What Are Fixed Stars?
"Fixed stars" are the distant suns that make up the constellations — so called because, unlike the wandering planets, they appear fixed in place relative to one another. For thousands of years, astrologers and magicians mapped their positions and attributed virtues to them. The Royal Stars of Persia guarded the four cardinal directions; the Behenian stars were the 15 fixed stars used in medieval talismanic magic, each linked to a planet, a gemstone, and an herb.
Because of precession — the slow wobble of Earth's axis — the tropical positions of fixed stars drift about 1° every 72 years. A star that sat at 0° Aries in antiquity has since moved into early Taurus. Always check current coordinates when working with them in a birth chart.

Aldebaran
Taurus (≈9°–10° Gemini in tropical)
Mars-like — courage, honor, ambition
The Watcher of the East. Aldebaran grants honor, intelligence, and the drive to achieve — but demands integrity. Those who act with deceit under its light fall from grace. It favors those who keep their word.
Regulus

The Watcher of the North. Regulus bestows nobility, ambition, and the throne — but its glory turns to ruin if revenge or pride corrupts the heart. Honor and restraint preserve its gifts.
Antares

Mars-Saturn — courage, danger, extremes
The Watcher of the West. Antares grants boldness, strategy, and the courage of a warrior — but warns against recklessness and the love of risk. It marks those who live at the edge.
Fomalhaut

Venus-Mercury — fame, idealism, the dreamer
The Watcher of the South. Fomalhaut grants creativity, idealism, and the gift of imagination — but its dreams can become illusion if not grounded. It favors artists, visionaries, and those who build from the unseen.
